won't you be my sweetheart?

Valentine's Day, for me at least, has never been a day of romance, kisses, and whispering of sweet nothings. Nevertheless, I happily embrace the sweets and pink and red hues that it brings. This year, I passed the day in the kitchen, baking some dark chocolate cupcakes with homemade maraschino cherry frosting and mint chocolate cookies, and listening to my own playlist of love songs all the while. The final results were truly adorable and, needless to say, delicious. And as he does every year, my father bought me the loveliest bouquet of pink roses and baby's breath. So I suppose I had a lovely day after all...

A while ago, I thought I would create my own potpourri of sorts, so I kept some rose petals to dry. Now they are inside a powder jar I purchased at a vintage shop, with a cameo of a Georgian lady on its lid.

The petals are so romantic, and still so vibrant!

And finally, a collection of sweet love songs...

you're the cream in my coffee from pattiocleavis on 8tracks Radio.

Happy Valentine's Day! xx
